***NOW FULLY SOLD OUT!!!***
Our team look forward to welcoming you to Firecracker XXVII to celebrate over 40 years of racing and to join with us to say 'bon voyage' to Arena Essex Raceway.
You may know that Arena Essex Raceway’s humble beginnings were the creation of “Chick“ Woodroffe, but what you may not know is that 27 years ago the very 1st Firecracker meeting was actually the brainchild of Chick’s son, Tony, persuading his father to invest in a spectacular end of season finale.
In its heyday Arena has housed up to 13,000 spectators for this event, with over 200 entries from the extremely rare makes/models to the latest; Rolls Royce’s, Chevvies, Hearses, Limos and some weird and wonderful vehicles along the way.
It is fitting therefore that Firecracker XXVII brings our racing at the track to a close. With over 230 cars booked in for the final goodbye, including drivers from Holland, Belgium, Eire and all over the UK, along with Shellshock Fireworks (who have been with us since the beginning), we are hoping for a truly spectacular farewell.
Arena Essex Raceway and everyone involved will bid you a sad and heartfelt farewell for having such a profound effect on so many lives, not least by introducing us to numerous characters over the last 41 years, we thank you.
